Our general meetings are held at the General Administration Auditorium on the Capitol Campus at 6:00 p.m. on the 3rd Tuesday of every month unless otherwise noted. Beverages, fruits and light snacks are provided. We are Local 443 of the Federation of State Employees (AFSCME) in Olympia, Washington. We are a "mixed" Local, with members filling a variety of jobs in state agencies and offices throughout Thurston,  Mason, and other Counties throughout Washington State. We are by far the largest Local in Council 28. Local 443 was originally chartered by the American Federation of Labor in 1945. We have 9,507 full paying members of 10,200 (93%).

The Local 443 Hospitality Committee needs members to host out of town members visiting Olympia to lobby our legislators. WFSE Council 28 will be providing these members breakfast, lunch, and mileage reimbursement. We need Local 443 members to help fill in the gaps. Lodging is a huge expense that many small locals cannot afford. Please take this opportunity to help our brothers and sisters by hosting someone.
