Local 443 has adopted Barb’s Family and Friends as our charity for community outreach. This charity is in its 39th year of serving holiday dinners to the homeless and less fortunate in the Olympia, Tumwater, and Lacey Washington area. This year it is expected over 2,000 people will be served at each meal for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Barb's Family and Friends also has a clothing bank and a furniture bank. We are looking for donations and volunteers for the 2008 Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday periods. Below is a list of food items needed for the meals:
Ham Peaches
Corn Starch Cranberry Sauce
Corn Powdered Milk
Olives Paper Plates (Dinner and dessert size)
Pickles Bleach
Potatoes Plastic gloves
Sweet Potatoes (Yams) Plastic table cloths
Uncle Ben’s Rice Plastic cups
Brown Sugar Plastic Utensils
Lawry’s seasoned salt Napkins
Butter/margarine Eggs
Garlic Bisquick
Corn bread stuffing mix Corn Meal
Onions Celery
