Committees
A union in which many people participate is far stronger than one in which a few people do all the work. Having an effective local union committee structure helps divide the work and provides a way for members to participate. Committees also let members utilize their individual skills and talents to grow their union activism and become new leaders in our union. And then on the third Tuesday of every month, we all come together for the General Membership Meeting (GMM) to discuss, vote, and take action on union business.

In addition to the local union committees below, there are Safety Committees and Union-Management Communication Committees (UMCC) in your workplace that you can join; reach out to your Council Rep for more information. And at GMM, we elect delegates to WFSE Policy Committees where workers from all over the state that share a community of interest (e.g., Higher Education, Natural Resources, Transportation, etc.) get together a few times a year to discuss workplace issues and union business.
General Membership Meeting (GMM)
443 is entirely run by state workers and GMM is where we democratically carry out the work of our union. So, come join your fellow union members and make decisions on issues important to us all. For more information email secretary@wfselocal443.org. Food is provided. Infants and children are welcome.
